RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

We are completely devoted to the development of this industry.
The more we study, the more we can improve.

At Nippon Felt we are using a pilot press test machine capable of running at extremely high speeds--2,000 meters per minute--in order to develop the next generation of paper-making felts. We also recover a portion of the felts used by our customers in order to study them from various perspectives such as the rate of wearing and other performance factors. We then analyze design suitability and considerations relevant to our customers' particular use of our products--all to contribute to the production of still higher quality felts. We believe that such dedication to the goal of satisfying customers, and the experience accumulated in that process, will lead to the development of world-class felt products.

To this end, we are very active in the R&D of new raw materials, new chemical treatments, new types of felts, as well as new manufacturing technologies. We feel it is very important and necessary to not only test the physical properties of raw materials for felts, but the felts as well.

Various tests have been carried out on the ultra-high speed pilot press machine running at speeds of 2,000 meters per minute to help develop the next generation of paper-making felts. In this sense the pilot needle loom also plays a key role in the development and improvement of felts.
